I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice world title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
